Emergency Service Completed

ANOTHER HAPPY CUSTOMER,
ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL DAY
www.aplustrees.com

Late one night, A+ Tree received a call. On the line was a panicked homeowner, who knew it was only a matter of time until a hazardous tree in the front yard would fall.

Rotted Base & Stump
NOVEMBER 2013 CITY OF RALEIGH DOWNTOWN-- The base of the tree was hollowed out to nearly 2 feet across the width of the trunk. A deep crack severed the trunk from root to canopy. Being that the tree was so close to the city's street property, the homeowner first contacted the city of Raleigh. But the city of Raleigh determined that the tree was located a few feet away from the city's street property, and therefore, all responsibility of the tree removal fell to the homeowners. So that’s when they called A+ Tree & Crane.

At first, A+ Tree was only mildly concerned about safely removing such a decayed tree. We are seasoned professionals and have answered and promptly executed all sorts of emergency calls. But each job presents a new challenge, It was when we learned about the tree's positioning in the customer's yard that we knew we had been met with a challenge. At the edge of the customer's front yard, near the street, and atop an 8 foot bank stood the rotted, split tree. It leaned out over the road, its limbs extending into and above power lines, and its slant loomed dangerously close to a neighbor's house across the street.

Performing Street Closure

A+ Tree quickly drew up a gameplan, sent the customer an estimate, and prepared to remove the hazardous tree that same day. But operations came to a halt when Duke power informed A+ Tree of a specific requirement. The power company mandated that all 125 homeowners whose electricity was fed by the same power line in front of the customer's tree must be notified 10 days in advance prior to the line being de-energized and grounded.

Climber being lifted to top of rotten tree
On the day of the tree service, A+ Tree raced against the clock to complete the project while adhering to city of Raleigh safety guidelines. We performed a street closure approved by the city of Raleigh, set up the crane, removed the tree, used the crane to hoist and position the stump grinder on the 8 foot bank, grind the stump all before the power would be reconnected to the 125 homes.

Sounds like a full day, but the A+ workday was not yet over. Once we had ensured the satisfaction of our Raleigh customers, it was time for us to move on to Cary to cut 75 trees and grind all the stumps. Our efficient crew  made it to the shop by 6pm that night.

"A+ took care of a very difficult tree project that most vendors didn't even want to touch. The crew showed up on time and took care of every small detail. I was pleased that they handled such a dangerous job safely and at a very reasonable cost."
